This week, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent his congratulations to Jose Antonio Kast on his election as Chile’s president-elect.
Kast won the December 14 runoff with 58.16 percent of the vote, defeating leftist Jeannette Jara, according to Chile’s Electoral Service. He is set to govern Chile from 2026 to 2030.
