Chinese Premier Li Qiang to Head to SCO, Zambia and G20 Summit

This week, the Chinese foreign ministry announced that Chinese premier Li Qiang will embark on a major diplomatic tour later this month.

From November 17 to 18 in Moscow, Premier Li Qiang will attend the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, at the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The gathering unites leaders from across Eurasia to discuss security cooperation, trade and digital connectivity.

He will then travel to Lusaka for an official visit to the Republic of Zambia on November 19 and 20, following an invitation from the Zambian government. This official visit will include high-level meetings and bilateral talks to strengthen cooperation.

Later, Premier Li Qiang will head to Johannesburg to participate in the 20th G20 Summit from November 21 to 23, at the invitation of the government of the Republic of South Africa. The G20 brings together major economies to address global challenges such as sustainable growth and digital transformation.

Li Qiang's back-to-back engagements across three continents highlight Beijing's focus on multilateral engagement and partnership at a time when global cooperation is increasingly crucial.
