IDF Strikes Gaza High-Rise Amid Mounting Humanitarian Toll

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it struck a high-rise building in Gaza City on Friday, targeting alleged Hamas lookout posts used to coordinate attacks on troops. The military reported issuing advance warnings and deploying precision-guided munitions, aerial surveillance and additional intelligence to minimize civilian harm.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has suspended lifesaving medical activities in Gaza City amid a rapidly deteriorating security situation. The group cited continued airstrikes and advancing tanks less than one kilometer from healthcare facilities, leaving neonates and critically ill patients stranded.

In the past 24 hours, Gaza hospitals received 47 bodies and treated 142 injuries. Gaza-based health authorities say the death toll since the conflict began in October 2023 has risen to 65,549, with 167,518 injuries documented.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warns that with hundreds of thousands fleeing the offensive, relief operations are eroding. All UN attempts to coordinate access in northern Gaza were denied by Israeli authorities, except for a single mission later canceled.

As the conflict intensifies, civilians face mounting challenges accessing aid and medical care. Globally connected readers are watching closely as the humanitarian crisis deepens in Gaza City.
