Wang Yi Calls for Urgent Gaza Ceasefire and Two-State Solution

In Beijing, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese foreign minister, called for an urgent, comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza to alleviate the two-year humanitarian crisis.

Highlighting two years of conflict and unprecedented humanitarian disaster, Wang Yi stressed that security must be shared: "No country should build its own security on the insecurity of other countries."

Key proposals

  • Ceasefire first: Call on countries with influence on Israel, the UN Security Council, and humanitarian agencies to act now.
  • Palestinian governance: Ensure any post-war reconstruction respects the will of the Palestinian people.
  • Two-state solution: Recognize the State of Palestine, support UN membership, and reject unilateral actions that undermine peace.

"The lives of Israelis and Arabs are equally precious," Wang Yi said, reminding the world that "curbing violence with violence will only fuel new hatred."

China reaffirms its support for the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights and commits to working for a just and lasting solution based on UN resolutions and the two-state framework.

As global citizens watch closely, the push for peace in Gaza and a durable two-state solution remains more urgent than ever.
