Han Zheng Proposes Four-Point Plan to Boost China-ASEAN Ties

When Chinese Vice President Han Zheng took the stage at the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo and Business and Investment Summit in Nanning on Wednesday, he wasn't just delivering a speech – he charted a roadmap for deeper ties across Southeast Asia.

Building on a foundation of long-standing friendship, Han laid out four proposals to forge a China-ASEAN community with a shared future:

  • Align Development Strategies: Advance the Belt and Road Initiative and roll out China's four global initiatives to create seamless growth corridors.
  • Open Trade Gates: Upgrade the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and push forward with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership for high-quality regional integration.
  • Strengthen Supply Chains: Expand collaboration in cutting-edge sectors – from green tech to digital manufacturing – and safeguard stability in global value networks.
  • Deepen Cultural Connections: Facilitate travel, spark people-to-people exchanges, and deliver community projects that turn big visions into local impact.

Han also highlighted that the expo serves as a launchpad for high-level opening up, promising that the Chinese mainland will continue to share new growth opportunities with ASEAN partners. For young entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts, and digital nomads alike, this blueprint opens doors to emerging markets, sustainable projects, and cross-border adventures.
