Overseas Chinese in Paris Celebrate Chinese Mainland’s 15th National Games Through Art

On September 11 in Paris's historic 6th arrondissement, the A2Z Art Gallery came alive with color and creativity as overseas Chinese in France joined forces with French artists and children from Guangzhou to celebrate the upcoming 15th National Games of the Chinese mainland.

Inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's line from The Little Prince—"The stars are beautiful because of a flower you cannot see"—young artists from the Guangzhou Children's Palace unveiled The Unfinished Garden. The collaborative work, painted by children with autism, Down syndrome, and other special needs, symbolizes hidden potential and shared dreams across cultures.

The evening brought together Counselor Wan Lei from the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Chinese Embassy in France, a delegation of Guangzhou overseas Chinese, local residents, and art lovers. Alongside 15 other pieces themed around sports and flowers, the gallery's walls reflected the energy, inclusivity, and spirit of the Chinese mainland's National Games, set to open on November 9.

A video recap of the exhibition captured the vibrant night and shared it worldwide, reminding us how art and inclusion can light up the global stage—just like unseen flowers among the stars.
