In the heart of Gaza, the humanitarian toll is mounting as hunger and hardship intensify. Amid relentless air and ground strikes, negotiators are poring over a fresh ceasefire and hostage-release proposal from Hamas.
According to Israel’s prime minister’s office, the new text has arrived on Thursday. A senior Israeli official told local media that the draft is something Israel could work with. However, gaps remain, notably on where Israeli forces would pull back during any truce.
This proposal follows an earlier version, submitted late Tuesday, which mediators deemed inadequate and withheld from Israel. Both sides face intense pressure domestically and internationally to finalize a deal before conditions worsen further.
A Palestinian official close to the talks described the latest position as “flexible, positive and took into consideration the growing suffering in Gaza and the need to stop the starvation.”
As global attention sharpens on the Gaza Strip, the world watches to see if these revised terms can bridge the divide and deliver a pause in violence that many say has become urgent and overdue.
