Israeli Military Launches Probe After Alleged Live Fire at Gaza Aid Hubs

Israel’s Military Advocate General has opened an internal investigation after Haaretz published firsthand soldier testimonies alleging they were ordered to fire on Palestinians crowding around food distribution hubs in the Gaza Strip.

According to the accounts, commanders at brigade level authorized live fire “to clear the approaches,” even when crowds were unarmed and posed no immediate threat. Soldiers say these orders were repeated in at least 19 separate incidents over the past month.

The United Nations reports that at least 410 people have been killed while trying to reach the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’s four distribution sites since late May. The foundation’s executive director has rebutted the figure as “disinformation” in a Sky News interview.

The wider conflict has claimed more than 56,000 Palestinian lives and 1,706 Israeli lives—a toll independently corroborated by Reuters and the UN humanitarian office. Humanitarian advocates warn these numbers underscore the urgent need for safer aid corridors.

As the probe unfolds, global citizens and human rights activists are calling for transparent updates and stricter field protocols to ensure civilian safety in future relief efforts.
