On Sunday, an Easter ceasefire declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin ahead of Orthodox Easter fell apart within hours, as both Moscow and Kyiv accused each other of violating the temporary pause in hostilities.
By midday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian forces had launched 26 attacks since the truce began, underscoring the fragile nature of the pause.
"Russia is only pretending to observe the ceasefire," Zelenskyy wrote on social media. "Either Putin doesn't control his military, or he's only interested in positive PRโnot peace."
Despite hopes for a momentary reprieve, the brief truce failed to take hold, leaving civilians and communities once again facing uncertainty and conflict.
