U.S. Gives Days to Save Ukraine Truce Plan, Rubio Warns

In a candid update from Paris, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Donald Trump is prepared to abandon efforts to broker a truce in Ukraine within days unless there’s clear momentum toward a deal.

“We’re not going to continue with this endeavor for weeks and months on end,” Rubio told reporters after meeting European and Ukrainian leaders. “We need to determine very quickly now, in a matter of days, whether this is doable. If it is, we’re in. If it’s not, then we have other priorities to focus on as well.”

Rubio emphasized that while Trump remains interested in a Russia-Ukraine peace deal, the administration will move on if no immediate progress emerges. The tight deadline has put global eyes on the fragile negotiation process and underscores the urgency of high-stakes diplomacy.

With just days to show concrete results, the next chapter of U.S.-led peace talks could redefine diplomatic goals and global security priorities.
