Tragic Road Accident in Northern Mexico Claims 12 Lives

A devastating incident unfolded on Sunday in the mountainous Santiago area of Nuevo Leon state, northern Mexico, when a pickup truck carrying 16 people plunged into a ravine.

District director of Civil Protection, Erik Cavazos, reported that the vehicle suffered a 120-meter fall, resulting in the immediate deaths of 11 occupants. A further tragedy struck when a minor succumbed to injuries at a nearby hospital.

In a related turn, the accident sparked a forest fire that was later brought under control by local authorities. Four individuals continue to receive treatment for injuries sustained during the fall.
