Macron to Host Ukraine Coalition Meeting in Paris

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that a pivotal meeting of Ukraine backers will take place next Thursday in Paris. In attendance will be Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as the coalition works to finalize support strategies amid the ongoing conflict.

The discussions will center on securing short-term support for the Ukrainian army, developing a sustainable defense framework to counter potential Russian invasions, and establishing credible security guarantees that European armies can offer. Macron emphasized that these elements are crucial for paving the way toward a potential ceasefire.

Following an EU summit in Brussels, Macron noted the importance of collaboration with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, underlining that extensive work has been done with British counterparts. This joint effort gained additional momentum after U.S. President Donald Trump initiated direct talks with Russia last month, intensifying multilateral commitment to Ukraine's defense and regional stability.

Describing the upcoming meeting as an opportunity to fine-tune their plans, Macron expressed optimism that the final details would be set in the coming days, marking a significant step in the international community's efforts to support Ukraine and secure lasting peace.
