Hamas Denounces Israeli Ground Operation in Gaza

In a significant development in central Gaza, Hamas has sharply condemned a ground operation by the Israeli army, calling it a blatant breach of the January ceasefire agreement. The move, which involves an advance toward the Netzarim Corridor and actions that isolate the north from the south of Gaza, has raised serious concerns about the region's stability.

Sami Abu Zuhri, a senior Hamas official, explained that the operation—supported by the United States—undermines the fragile peace established last January. He urged mediators to address the situation urgently, noting that the current environment has stalled any meaningful dialogue. According to Abu Zuhri, the occupation's refusal to engage in negotiations has left no room for progress.

Abu Zuhri also warned that Hamas and other Palestinian factions are prepared to respond decisively if the breach continues, hinting at the possibility of resuming attacks against Israel. He stressed that Hamas will not release Israeli prisoners unless the occupation commits to ending hostilities, fully withdraws from Gaza, and lifts the blockade on the Strip.

This unfolding situation underscores the complex challenges of achieving lasting peace in the region. With tensions escalating, the call for renewed mediation efforts remains a critical factor in preventing further conflict.
