Russia, Ukraine Swap 372 POWs in Latest Exchange

In a notable development amid ongoing tensions, Russia and Ukraine have swapped a total of 372 prisoners of war in a recent exchange confirmed by Russia's Defense Ministry.

According to official statements, Russia returned 175 Ukrainian detainees along with 22 seriously wounded prisoners in need of urgent medical care. In turn, Ukraine repatriated 175 Russian troops, who have been transferred to Belarus where they are receiving both medical treatment and psychological support.

The exchange unfolded following a high-level phone call on Tuesday between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, during which it was confirmed that each side would exchange 175 prisoners on Wednesday.

This prisoner swap, involving both active soldiers and those requiring critical care, offers a rare glimpse of coordinated action amid ongoing conflict. Observers note that such humanitarian gestures might serve as a pathway to broader discussions on conflict resolution.

As global attention remains focused on this dynamic situation, the move underscores the importance of addressing the human cost of conflict while exploring opportunities for dialogue in challenging times.
