Pakistan Train Attack: 155 Rescued, Operation Continues

In the rugged southwest of Balochistan, Pakistani security forces have launched an intense operation following a daring train attack in the Kacchi district. The incident unfolded on Tuesday when terrorists stormed a Jaffar Express train carrying about 450 passengers from Quetta to Peshawar.

According to security sources, the militants, split into small groups and using hostages as human shields, created a complex and dangerous scenario. Wearing explosive vests and positioning suicide bombers among innocent passengers, they aimed to slow down the rescue efforts.

The operation has already claimed the lives of 27 terrorists and successfully rescued 155 passengers. Railway officials confirmed that 57 of the rescued passengers were transported safely to Quetta, while 23 remained in Mach as the situation continues to be managed on the spot.

Senior Pakistan Railways official Muhammad Kashif noted that the attack took place in a mountainous region with severely restricted communication, further complicating the rescue procedures. A relief train, accompanied by security reinforcements, was dispatched to the area, and emergency measures have been enforced at key medical facilities to provide prompt aid.

In a strong statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack, praising the bravery and professionalism of the security forces. He affirmed that Pakistan will relentlessly pursue the eradication of terrorism, ensuring that any conspiracy to disrupt peace and stability will be foiled.

As operations continue, security forces remain determined to neutralize the remaining militants, with all relevant agencies mobilized to restore safety and order in the region.
