Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf met on Friday at the Group of 20 (G20) Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa, to discuss the strengthening of bilateral ties.
Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized China's commitment to consolidating political mutual trust with Algeria. He highlighted the importance of supporting each other in safeguarding their respective core interests.
The two foreign ministers explored opportunities to deepen cooperation across various sectors, including economic development, trade, and cultural exchange. Wang also advocated for joint efforts to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Global South countries and to promote an equal and orderly multipolar world.
