XPeng’s Electric SUV Takes on Tesla in Irish Market Launch

Irish EV enthusiasts have a new contender in town: Chinese automaker XPeng has opened its first showroom in Dublin, bringing its AI-powered G6 Coupe SUV to Tesla's and BYD's doorstep. The launch marks a bold step in XPeng's global expansion strategy, aiming to operate in 60 countries by year-end.

Tech Specs That Turn Heads

The G6 Coupe boasts a 570km range in its long-range model and accelerates from 0-100kph in 6.7 seconds. Its AI-driven autonomous parking and standard self-driving features position it as a competitive alternative to Tesla, which charges extra for similar tech.

From 'Little Fabulous Bird' to Global Player

Founded in 2014, XPeng has rapidly grown to 15,000 employees worldwide. Its Irish debut saw 12 units sold in just one weekend, prompting urgent restocking requests. "We've called for more cars already," said XPeng Ireland Brand Manager Alan Furlong. "This launch has exceeded expectations."

The EV Race Heats Up

The Dublin showroom sits directly adjacent to BYD's outlet, signaling intensified competition among Chinese automakers and Western rivals. With XPeng combining affordability ($45,000 starting price) and advanced tech, Ireland has become a key battleground in the global shift to electric mobility.
