The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m., as reported by Yonhap News Agency citing the country's Coast Guard. The boat encountered dangerous rocks off the southwestern island, leading to the tragic accident.
Emergency response teams acted swiftly, and 19 passengers were rescued by the Coast Guard and a nearby vessel. Fortunately, none of the survivors sustained life-threatening injuries.
