U.S. President Joe Biden announced on Wednesday that officials are investigating possible connections between the tragic truck attack in New Orleans and the recent explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck outside a Trump hotel in Las Vegas.
'We're tracking the explosion of a Cybertruck outside the Trump hotel in Las Vegas,' Biden stated. 'Law enforcement and the intelligence community are investigating this as well, including whether there's any possible connection with the attack in New Orleans.'
The New Orleans incident occurred on New Year's Day when a U.S. Army veteran, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, deliberately drove a pickup truck into a crowd of revelers, resulting in the deaths of fifteen people and injuring around thirty others, including two police officers who were shot by the suspect before he was killed in a shootout with authorities in Texas.
The FBI is treating the New Orleans attack as a potential act of terrorism, expressing concerns that the suspect may not have acted alone. Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Cybertruck explosion is under scrutiny to determine if there's any linkage between the two separate events.
Authorities are urging the public to stay vigilant as investigations continue to uncover any possible connections between these incidents.
