Choi Sang-mok Steps In as South Korea’s Acting President After Impeachment

South Korea's Minister of Economy and Finance, Choi Sang-mok, is set to assume the role of acting president starting Friday, according to a report by Yonhap News Agency. Choi, who also holds the position of Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, will take over following the suspension of acting President Han Duck-soo's duties. The impeachment of Han was passed earlier Friday by the opposition-controlled National Assembly. This transition marks a significant shift in South Korea's political landscape as Choi steps into the highest office amid the unfolding political developments.
