China and U.S. Strengthen Ties with Emphasis on Mutual Respect

In a significant gesture commemorating 45 years of China-U.S. diplomatic relations, Chinese Ambassador to the U.S., Xie Feng, delivered a thought-provoking video speech during the U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC) reception dinner on November 7.

Ambassador Xie highlighted the three foundational principles set forth by Chinese President Xi Jinping: mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation. He emphasized that these principles have not only shaped the past decades of bilateral relations but also chart the course for future interactions between the two nations.

\"China will never become another United States. Differences should be an impetus for exchanges and mutual learning, rather than a pretext for exclusion and confrontation,\" Xie stated, advocating for a relationship built on understanding and collaboration.

He expressed his hope that the U.S. would align with Chinaโ€™s vision, urging both nations to stand on the right side of history and make choices that reflect the evolving global trends and the will of their people. Ambassador Xie called for moving the relationship forward on a stable, sound, and sustainable track, highlighting the importance of cooperation in navigating the complexities of the modern world.

This address underscores China's commitment to fostering a balanced and constructive relationship with the United States, emphasizing dialogue and partnership as the keys to enduring diplomacy.
