Israel Strikes Hezbollah Weapons Sites in Syria’s Al-Qusayr

In a recent escalation, Israel's military launched airstrikes targeting weapons storage facilities used by Hezbollah in the Al-Qusayr region of Syria. According to an official statement, the strikes aimed at Hezbollah's munitions unit that has expanded its operations near the Syria-Lebanon border.

Syrian state television reported that the airstrike impacted the industrial area of Al-Qusayr in central Syria's Homs province, causing significant material damage. Residential buildings adjacent to the industrial zone were also affected, though no casualties have been reported at this time.

Ramez Saadeh, head of the Al-Qusayr City Council, confirmed the damage to industrial facilities but noted that assessments are ongoing to determine the full extent of the impact. This latest strike follows a previous attack targeting Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters in Damascus just a day earlier.

Israeli military operations in Syria have intensified recently, focusing on disrupting arms shipments and military infrastructure linked to Iran and Hezbollah, who are considered regional adversaries by Israel. These actions highlight the ongoing tensions and complex geopolitical dynamics within the region.
