The Democratic Peopleโs Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired several short-range ballistic missiles into the sea off the eastern coast of the Korean Peninsula early Tuesday morning, according to the Republic of Korea (ROK)'s Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The missile launches occurred around 7:30 a.m. from near Sariwon, North Hwanghae Province in the DPRK. In response, the ROK's Joint Chiefs of Staff have been closely coordinating with the United States and Japan to enhance surveillance and share critical information.
Japan's government also reported the missile launch. The Japanese coast guard confirmed that the projectile, believed to be a ballistic missile, had already fallen into the ocean, and NHK reported that it likely landed outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.
These developments highlight the ongoing tensions in the region and the importance of international cooperation in monitoring and responding to such military activities.
