Egypt Proposes Two-Day Ceasefire in Gaza with Hostage Exchange

In a significant development towards peace in the Middle East, Egypt has proposed a two-day ceasefire in Gaza, which includes the exchange of four Israeli hostages for some Palestinian prisoners, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced on Sunday.

The announcement was made during a press conference in Cairo, where President al-Sisi was joined by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The proposed temporary ceasefire aims to create a conducive environment for more substantial negotiations.

President al-Sisi emphasized the importance of resuming talks within ten days of the ceasefire's implementation to work towards establishing a permanent ceasefire. This move signals Egypt's ongoing efforts to mediate and stabilize the volatile situation in the region.

The proposed exchange and temporary halt in hostilities are seen as steps toward reducing tensions and fostering dialogue between the involved parties.
