A devastating incident occurred on Sunday at the Glilot interchange near Tel Aviv, when a truck veered into a bus stop, resulting in 40 individuals sustaining injuries.
The Israeli MDA rescue service and police confirmed that the injured were swiftly transported to six hospitals across central Israel. Among the victims, six are reported to be in serious condition, seven have moderate injuries, and the remaining have minor injuries.
Authorities have described the collision as a deliberate attack. The truck driver, hailing from the Arab-Israeli city of Qalansawe, lost control and collided with a bus that was stationed to drop off passengers at the stop.
Witnesses at the scene intervened by opening fire on the driver to \"neutralize\" the threat, according to police reports. Several Israeli media outlets have reported that the driver was killed during the altercation.
The Glilot interchange is notably one of Israel's busiest junctions and is situated near the Glilot Base, home to Unit 8200, an elite cyber intelligence unit of the Israeli army.
