On Friday, the top leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong Un, sent a wreath to the China-DPRK Friendship Tower in Pyongyang. This gesture marks the 74th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Volunteers entering the DPRK to participate in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, as reported by the DPRK’s official Korean Central News Agency.
The wreath carried the inscription, “We will remember the martyrs of the Chinese People’s Volunteers forever,” symbolizing enduring gratitude and remembrance. This message was penned on the ribbon by Kim Jong Un, who holds the titles of General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and President of the State Affairs of the DPRK.
Following authorization, Ri Il Hwan, a member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, laid the wreath at the base of the Friendship Tower. This act underscores the historical ties and ongoing relationship between the DPRK and China.
