The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has detonated sections of the Gyeongui and Donghae roads north of the Military Demarcation Line, according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff.
In response, South Korea has enhanced its military readiness to ensure national security and maintain stability in the region.
Addressing the situation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning urged all parties to collaborate in upholding peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
Mao emphasized that the current tensions do not serve the common interests of any party and highlighted the immediate priority of preventing further conflict escalation. She reaffirmed China's commitment to maintaining peace and advancing the political settlement process regarding the Korean Peninsula issue.
