At a press briefing on Thursday in Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said there is no need for the Japanese side to be so nervous and dramatic about the joint air patrol by the Chinese mainland and Russia.
The patrol, which took place on Tuesday over the East China Sea and the Western Pacific, marked the 10th such mission between the armies of the Chinese mainland and Russia since 2019.
Guo made the remarks in response to a media inquiry about the operation, emphasizing that regular strategic coordination exercises should not cause undue concern.
