Since the first phase of the ceasefire took effect on October 10, Israeli forces pulled back behind the so-called 'yellow line,' allowing many displaced Palestinians to return home.
However, residents whose homes lie within Israeli-controlled areas remain stranded as the 'yellow line' turns into an impassable divide. Israel's defense minister warned that 'any violation or attempt to cross the line will be met with fire.'
On November 2, the Israeli military reported it had killed a Palestinian man in northern Gaza's Shujayea neighborhood after claiming he approached the 'yellow line.'
As ceasefire talks continue, Gaza's displaced families face uncertainty, caught between hopes of returning and the stark reality of a boundary that stands firm.
