Chongqing’s Must-see Drone Light Show Dazzles Global Visitors

Chongqing, a megacity in the Chinese mainland's southwest, has launched a weekend drone light show along the waterfront where the Yangtze and Jialing rivers meet. Since its debut earlier this year, the Saturday-night spectacle (and special shows on major public holidays) has quickly become a must-see draw for tourists.

Each performance features thousands of drones painting the night sky with vivid representations of Chongqing's iconic skyline. The show shines a spotlight on the city's development milestones, including its role in building the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, underscoring how urban innovation and heritage can come together in a breathtaking display.

Among recent spectators was a delegation from Hungary's Mathias Corvinus Collegium Foundation. "The drone show is so vibrant… It reflects the dynamism and energy that I can find in China," said Kitta Gergely, director for Institutes at the think tank. The spectacle is already resonating with young global citizens, tech addicts and culture seekers eager for fresh experiences.

For travellers planning a visit, Chongqing's drone show offers more than just eye candy; it's a glimpse into a river city where tradition meets tomorrow, and where nightfall brings a new kind of illumination.
