Ahead of the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women, CGTN’s Wang Mangmang sat down with Huang Xiaowei, vice president and first member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women’s Federation and vice chairperson of the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council.
In the interview, Huang shared an inspiring message for young women around the world: now is the moment to pursue equality, break down barriers and shape the future.
"Equality is not just a goal—it’s a movement we build together," Huang said. "Young women hold the power to drive progress. By raising your voice, lifting up your peers and stepping into leadership roles, you can rewrite the rules."
She outlined three pillars for action:
- Raise Your Voice: Speak up in your community and online platforms. Share your stories and challenges to spark dialogue.
- Build Networks: Seek mentors, form peer groups and connect with changemakers across borders. Collaboration fuels impact.
- Lead with Purpose: Step into student councils, startups or community projects. Leadership opportunities often lie beyond traditional paths.
Huang emphasized the need for solidarity among women from diverse backgrounds. "Our differences make us stronger," she noted. "By learning from each other—across cultures, industries and experiences—we step closer to true equality."
As the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women approaches, Huang’s call resonates with global citizens, entrepreneurs, activists and digital nomads alike. In a world facing complex challenges, empowering young women to claim their voice and lead with intention offers a pathway to lasting change.
"The journey toward equality begins with each of us," Huang reminded viewers. "Let’s take that first step—together."
