During the eight-day National Day holiday, the Chinese mainland witnessed an average of 62 million vehicles on the road daily, including 12.5 million new energy vehicles—a year-on-year jump of nearly 30 percent.

Travelers also broadened their horizons, venturing beyond urban icons into smaller counties and hidden destinations. Improved transport links and growing digital connectivity made these journeys smoother and more accessible.

Wang Dan, the Chinese mainland director at Eurasia Group, highlights the region's strong travel safety record and robust network coverage. She adds that these factors enhance the tourist experience and stimulate regional tourism and economic growth.

By striking a new balance between popular hotspots and off-the-beaten-path discoveries, the Chinese mainland's travel boom is charting a path toward sustainable, locally driven growth.
