How Nanning International Railway Port Supercharges China-ASEAN Trade

What used to take over a week to ship durian and other produce to Beijing now happens in days. Thanks to the China-Vietnam Railway Express running daily from Nanning International Railway Port, fresh goods reach markets faster and fresher than ever.

Every day, tens of thousands of cargo containers converge at this logistics powerhouse in southern China's Guangxi region. As the heartbeat of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, the port handles 366 categories of goods via the China-Vietnam Railway Express and over 1,160 product types across the wider corridor.

Data-driven forecasts show that by 2025 the corridor's freight rail services will complete more than 300,000 trips, moving over 960,000 TEUs. This fast, integrated supply chain not only gives southern China a swift route to the sea but also brings ASEAN products directly into Chinese homes.

More than a trade hub, Nanning International Railway Port is a key component of the Belt and Road Initiative and China's dual circulation strategy. By linking domestic markets with ASEAN and global networks, it's reshaping regional trade and building closer economic ties across borders.
