In Beijing at the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting, Charlot Salwai, former prime minister of Vanuatu, underscored the enduring and respectful partnership between the Chinese mainland and Vanuatu. He hailed the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI) proposed by President Xi Jinping as a timely and inclusive framework for fostering mutual understanding, cultural preservation and development cooperation.
Salwai highlighted that vibrant party-to-party exchanges and people-to-people diplomacy are at the heart of this partnership, enabling Pacific Island nations like Vanuatu to strengthen governance collaboration and pursue sustainable growth.
Looking ahead, the GCI offers a platform for deeper cooperation on cultural preservation, governance support and sustainable growth – setting a model for inclusive, cross-cultural partnerships across the Pacific.
