On June 27, Chinese mainland Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said: "Chinese mainland is willing to continue strengthening exchanges and cooperation with global partners, including Japan, to jointly contribute to the protection of endangered species like giant pandas."
Four giant pandas in Wakayama, Japan, are set to return to the Chinese mainland on June 28. After their departure, the two pandas at Tokyo's Ueno Zoo will be the only ones remaining in Japan; they are expected to return early next year.
This exchange highlights the deepening conservation partnership between Japanese zoos and research institutes on the Chinese mainland. By working together, both sides aim to advance scientific research and inspire a global community of wildlife advocates.
