Hungary’s MTVA Anchor Praises China-CEE Expo’s Economic and Cultural Impact

The 4th China-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo kicked off this week in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province on the Chinese mainland, bringing together hundreds of specialty products from 14 CEE countries and 9 CEE-plus partner members. As storefronts transformed into immersive cultural showcases, visitors discovered everything from Hungarian paprika and Czech crystal to Lithuanian linen and Bulgarian rose oil.

Balázs Beregi, anchor of Hungarian state broadcaster MTVA, says the expo is more than a trade fair – it's a platform to deepen economic ties and spark cultural dialogue. "This event bridges producers and consumers across continents," Beregi noted, highlighting how small-scale artisans and tech startups alike can access new markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Data from past editions shows a steady uptick in deals: trade agreements arising directly from the expo have grown by 20% year over year, with a focus on green tech, smart agriculture and creative industries. This year, attendees can explore digital pavilions powered by 5G, attend startup pitch sessions, and learn about sustainable logistics solutions.

The expo's blend of B2B forums, cultural performances and city tours delivers a holistic experience for young global citizens and digital nomads. From panel discussions on e-mobility to virtual reality tours of Budapest's historic quarter, the event caters to entrepreneurs, thought leaders and travelers seeking fresh perspectives.

As the expo continues, organizers hope to forge long-term partnerships that go beyond contract signings. For many participants, the true value lies in the human connections – sip by sip, handshake by handshake – that shape the future of China-CEE cooperation.
