In a Beijing interview with China Media Group, Colombian President Gustavo Petro praised the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as a "mutual benefit and win-win cooperation" platform. Speaking on the sidelines of the China-CELAC Forum, Petro outlined how deepened ties could drive green development and boost commodities trade with the Chinese mainland.
At the forum – formally known as the China-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States gathering – Petro highlighted the BRI's ability to connect diverse markets, streamline supply chains, and accelerate sustainable infrastructure projects.
