China and U.S. Kick Off High-Level Trade Talks in Geneva

China and the United States kicked off a high-level economic and trade meeting on Saturday in Geneva, Switzerland. Delegations gathered to explore ways to strengthen cooperation on economic and trade issues at a time when global markets seek stability.

At the helm of the Chinese delegation is He Lifeng, vice premier and member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. The U.S. side is led by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, the designated lead person for China-U.S. economic and trade affairs.

CGTN correspondent Ken Browne reported live from the venue, where negotiators outlined a packed agenda aimed at resolving disputes and boosting cooperation on trade and economic fronts.

Digital-savvy entrepreneurs, startups and global investors are watching closely. As supply chains evolve and tech regulation becomes a hot topic, the outcomes in Geneva could ripple through e-commerce, green finance and cross-border partnerships.

With two of the world’s biggest economies at the table, this meeting may set the tone for the next chapter in U.S.-China economic relations—and shape opportunities for a new generation of changemakers.
