CMG Launches Expert Committee on South China Sea Studies

At its Sanya base in Hainan Province in the Chinese mainland, China Media Group (CMG) marked a significant step in maritime research by launching its Expert Committee on South China Sea Studies last Saturday. The event brought together distinguished experts and research partners to focus on the dynamic issues surrounding this strategic body of water.

In collaboration with the National Institute for South China Sea Studies and the Huayang Center for Maritime Cooperation and Ocean Governance, CMG also unveiled the Southeast Asia Perceptions Report. This data-driven report examines varying regional perspectives and explores the economic, strategic, and environmental dimensions of the South China Sea.

The initiative aims to foster informed dialogue among academics, policymakers, and a diverse global audience, including young global citizens, business innovators, and digital nomads. By bridging academic insights with real-world challenges, the Expert Committee is set to enhance our understanding of maritime affairs and promote sustainable practices in the region.

Looking ahead, the committee will continue to explore innovative approaches to marine governance and cross-regional cooperation, offering fresh perspectives on one of the worldโ€™s most dynamic and complex maritime areas.
