Chinese Red Cross Launches Rescue in Quake-hit Myanmar

Early on Monday, the Chinese Red Cross International Emergency Response Team arrived in Mandalay to provide urgent assistance following a devastating magnitude-7.9 earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28.

The team quickly began a series of critical operations, including structure demolition to secure affected zones, comprehensive search and rescue efforts, rapid medical transport, and the delivery of vital healthcare and psychological counseling services. These actions come as local officials report tragic losses, with at least 2,056 people dead, 3,900 injured, and 270 still missing.

This courageous initiative underscores a spirit of global solidarity. As rescue operations continue, the focus remains on saving lives and offering immediate relief to the communities impacted by this catastrophic event.
