In an exciting display of momentum, Galactic Energy, one of China’s leading private aerospace companies, has marked a breakthrough by completing two rocket launches within just five days. This achievement highlights the vibrant progress of China’s commercial space sector.
On Friday, the CERES-1 Y17 rocket soared from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China. During this mission, six satellites—named Yunyao 43-48—were successfully deployed into a 535-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit. These satellites form part of the ambitious Yunyao constellation being developed by Tianjin-based Yunyao Aerospace.
The Yunyao constellation is designed to eventually comprise 90 commercial meteorological satellites. The project aims to create a real-time global atmospheric and ionospheric detection system that will enhance weather forecasting for partner countries aligned with the Belt and Road initiative. This data-driven network promises to transform global meteorological insights, benefiting industries from travel to sustainability research.
Galactic Energy’s flagship CERES-1 model has now completed 18 launches, delivering a total of 77 satellites into orbit. The company’s record-setting performance—marked by a high frequency of launches, the largest number of satellites deployed, and an impressive success rate—cements its role as a trailblazer in the commercial space arena.
This rapid pace of innovation not only underscores the transformative role of technology in today’s global landscape but also resonates deeply with young global citizens, tech enthusiasts, thought leaders, and travelers. By seamlessly blending advanced space technology with practical real-world applications, Galactic Energy is helping to chart a new course for scientific exploration and international collaboration.
