In a significant move towards advancing gender equality, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has announced that China will convene a Global Leaders' Meeting on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment in Beijing later this year. This initiative marks a pivotal moment, commemorating thirty years since Beijing hosted the Fourth World Conference on Women, where women worldwide united in their pursuit of equal rights.
Over the past three decades, there has been substantial progress in gender equality and the empowerment of women. However, the journey is far from complete.
