China to Drive Growth in Emerging Industries and Digital Transformation

In a bid to bolster its economic landscape, China has unveiled plans to develop new quality productive forces tailored to local conditions. This initiative, detailed in a government work report submitted on Wednesday to the national legislature, aims to foster the growth of emerging and future industries.

Premier Li Qiang presented the work report at the opening meeting of the third session of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing. He highlighted key sectors poised for expansion, including commercial aerospace, the low-altitude economy, biomanufacturing, quantum computing, embodied intelligence, and 6G technologies.

"We will accelerate the digital transformation of traditional industries," Premier Li emphasized, signaling a robust commitment to integrating advanced technologies into established sectors. This move is expected to enhance efficiency and drive innovation across various industries.

The digital economy is set to become a significant driver of innovation vitality as China continues to promote the "Artificial Intelligence Plus" initiative, building on last year's government work report. This initiative aims to integrate AI technologies across diverse industries, leveraging their potential to revolutionize business processes and services.

Additionally, Premier Li announced plans to maximize the allocation of computing power to establish globally competitive digital industry clusters. These clusters are envisioned to become hubs of technological advancement, positioning China at the forefront of the global digital economy.
