China Pushes for Dialogue with U.S. Amid New Tariffs

The Chinese mainland is open to addressing mutual concerns with the United States through dialogue and consultation based on mutual respect. Lou Qinjian, spokesperson for the third session of the 14th National People's Congress, stated on Tuesday that the Chinese mainland will not accept coercion or threats. This statement comes after the U.S. imposed an additional 10-percent tariff on goods imported from the Chinese mainland.

Lou emphasized that trade between nations should adhere to World Trade Organization (WTO) rules and that trade disputes should be resolved within the WTO framework.
