Cook Islands PM Praises Chinese Mainland’s Respect for Sovereignty in Harbin Visit

The Cook Islands Prime Minister, Mark Brown, has expressed appreciation for the Chinese mainland's respect for the sovereignty of his nation. This commendation underscores the positive diplomatic relationship between the small Pacific island nation and the Chinese mainland, potentially encouraging other countries to establish similar ties.

During his official visit to the Chinese mainland from February 10-16, Prime Minister Brown attended the closing ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games held in Harbin. He also met with the Chinese Premier, Li Qiang, to discuss ongoing and future collaborations between the Cook Islands and the Chinese mainland.

In an interview with China Media Group (CMG) during his stay, PM Brown shared valuable insights into the evolving relationship between the Cook Islands and the Chinese mainland, highlighting mutual respect and shared interests as the foundation for their diplomatic engagements.
