Xi Jinping Visits Flood-Affected NE China Village Ahead of Spring Festival

In a heartfelt gesture ahead of the Spring Festival, the largest holiday in China, Xi Jinping, also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited the village of Zhujiagou in Suizhong County, Huludao City, northeast China's Liaoning Province, to meet with residents affected by recent floods. Despite the cold weather, Xi took the time to understand the challenges faced by the community, offering support and solidarity during this crucial time.

The Spring Festival, marking the beginning of the lunar new year, falls on January 29 this year, making Xi's visit timely as communities prepare for the celebrations. The flooding in Zhujiagou has displaced numerous families, impacting local businesses and livelihoods. Xi's visit not only aims to provide immediate relief but also to reinforce the government's commitment to rebuilding and aiding recovery efforts.

Residents expressed their gratitude for the leadership's attention, highlighting the importance of strong governance in times of crisis. As northeast China faces the brunt of unexpected weather patterns, initiatives for sustainable infrastructure and disaster preparedness are becoming ever more critical.
