On the edge of the Taklimakan Desert in Lop County, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, 40 machines have been working tirelessly to flatten the undulating dunes, creating fertile land for agriculture. Meanwhile, around 300 local villagers located 80 kilometers away are actively planting saxaul trees on the leveled sand area. These efforts aim to establish a 266-hectare \"green carpet\" over the desert by spring, promoting sustainability and combating desertification.
