Netanyahu: Israel to Take Control of Gaza as Aid Trucks Head In

In a move signaling a new phase of the conflict, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel will take control of the entire Gaza Strip as aid trucks prepare to enter.

Aid Delivery Amid Blockade

After more than two months of a total blockade imposed on March 2, Israel said the first delivery of trucks carrying baby food would enter on Monday, aimed at alleviating the growing hunger across Gaza.

The World Health Organization warned that "two million people are starving," highlighting critical shortages of food, clean water, fuel and medicines in the besieged territory.

Escalation and Evacuation

In southern Gaza, the Israeli military urged residents in and around Khan Younis to evacuate ahead of what it described as an "unprecedented attack," as ground operations expanded against Hamas militants.

Gaza's civil defense agency reported 52 fatalities in Monday's strikes, part of a campaign that health authorities say has killed more than 53,000 people, many of them civilians.

Humanitarian Crisis in the Spotlight

The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights decried actions it described as "tantamount to ethnic cleansing," citing mass displacement, the methodical destruction of entire neighborhoods and denial of humanitarian aid.

"Tonnes of food is blocked at the border, just minutes away," said WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. "The risk of famine in Gaza is increasing with the deliberate withholding of humanitarian aid."

Global Implications

As the situation unfolds, young global citizens, entrepreneurs and changemakers are watching closely, calling for unimpeded humanitarian corridors and a sustainable path to peace that respects human rights and regional stability.

Stay tuned for updates as more aid convoys prepare to cross into Gaza and the international community seeks solutions to this deepening crisis.
