China has dispatched a ceasefire monitoring team to Lashio, Shan State, marking a key step in formalizing the recent truce between the Myanmar military and the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA). Spokesperson Guo Jiakun of the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed that the MNDAA withdrew its forces from Lashio and handed control to the Myanmar military earlier this week.
