Beijing played host to an engaging book launch event that brought together a diverse group of thinkers, innovators, and global citizens. The new book, titled "China's Development in the New Era – The Zhejiang Experience," was unveiled by Foreign Languages Press and Zhejiang International Communication Center in a celebration of evolution, innovation, and sustainable growth.
Authored by David W. Ferguson, FLP's honorary English chief editor, the book presents 60,000 words of deep storytelling drawn from in-depth interviews and personal observations. It examines key facets of Zhejiang's development, including its dynamic opening up, the thriving private and digital economies, and advancements in green productivity. This narrative not only chronicles real events and people's lives but also highlights how Zhejiang contributes to shaping a sustainable development trajectory in China.
The event featured behind-the-scenes discussions where Ferguson shared insights from his conversations with various contributors. Representatives from the public communication departments of Yiwu, Anji, Deqing, and Kecheng joined international students from Beijing's universities, all of whom left with a copy of the book and a new perspective on China's modernization journey.
Adding another layer to the event, Foreign Languages Press and Zhejiang International Communication Center introduced "Decode China: David Ferguson's Storytelling," a convergence media series designed to bring engaging narratives of China's rapid modernization to a global audience. With this initiative, the organizers aim to offer a fresh, insightful look at progress and innovation that resonates with a digitally savvy, internationally minded community.
